Answers for Life from Creation

Answers for Life from Creation

Gen 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Genesis gives an absolute account of the creation of the earth and the life upon it. The Bible nowhere says that God set processes to work, and out of those processes evolved the things which now appear. The Bible says that God created things by distinct acts and rested, because creation was finished.

Gen 1:3-5 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.

This word “day” means what we understand by twenty-four hours. The philosophy of evolution is responsible for the endeavor to explain that the Bible means a period of years instead of a solar day. The use of the term “evening and morning” in Genesis distinctly indicates a solar day.

In an attempt to make the Biblical account of creation believable to unbelievers, some say God created the world, but He did it using evolution. However, that is a convoluted explanation, for the evolution theory is based on the non-existence of God. At best, this compromise makes God impotent, unable to speak things into existence; therefore, requiring millions of years to produce creation.

Evolution proposes that all that exists in the universe happened by chance — the stars and planets, and everything in the cosmos and on the earth, are the result of an unexplainable accident. There is no purpose or design to the world. There is no reason for our existence. Therefore, there are no values in life, and all attempts to discover values are pointless.

The message from the Bible is that there are answers to the basic questions of life. The first question It answers is: What is the origin of life? The Bible plainly states the origin of life is God. He is the Almighty One who wanted the universe to exist. He said let it be, and it was.

Genesis 1:24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so”.

We know from the evidence around us that life does not come from something that is not living; life comes from something that is living. Life does not come from nothing, it comes from something, and that something is always something which is alive. Therefore, it is more logical to believe a living God created the world and all life that exists came from Him rather than life began from something not alive.

1 Cor 8:6For us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live”.

But where does God come from? God does not come from anywhere; He is. He has always existed because He lives outside of time and space. He is without beginning or end. He always has been and always will be. Unlike us, He is not defined or limited by time or spatial existence.

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

The Bible declares throughout, beginning in Genesis, that there is a God. If there is not a God who created us in love, then we are left with a life that has no purpose. If there is no God and no meaning to life, neither is there morality. Therefore, the Biblical account of creation answers another important question. What is the meaning of life or the purpose of our existence?

Many people reject the idea of a God-created-world because they do not want there to be any meaning to the world beyond themselves. They want to invent their own meaning. If there is no morality built into the universe, then they can decide what is right and wrong for themselves. If there is no God, they can be their own god. They do not want to be accountable to anyone beside themselves.

Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

Contrary to the evolution theory, the creation account in Genesis shows God created mankind and gave him a purpose, which is to rule over the rest of Creation. Man is accountable to God, who determines man’s existence, life, and eternity. Man cannot escape the sovereignty of God, even if he doesn’t believe in God.

Creation answers another question: What is the value of life? If we are here simply by chance, then our lives have no ultimate value — we are just a mass of protoplasm. However, if God has created the world, life not only has meaning, it has value.

Heb 2:6-7 But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor

1 Cor 6:19-20Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body”.

These Scriptures show that we are highly valued by God. People have value because God makes them in His image and for His purpose. However, people who believe that the world came about by some cosmic accident, and life randomly evolved over time have no trouble taking the life of an unborn child or the life of a disabled, chronically ill, or elderly person. Life to them is just a mass of tissue. However, if human life is the result of a creative act of God, it puts a whole new light on the value of human life, not to mention the world itself.

God loves the world and the people in it. After each creative act, God pronounced that what He had made was good. He placed meaning in our existence and value on our lives. We are so valuable to Him that He came to live among us. He loves us so much He died in order that we could live. And, His creative work is not done. He is creating us a place in His eternal kingdom.

We are so blessed, because God not only created the world, He is in control of the world. He not only created sound, He created music. He not only created people, He created love. He not only created sight, He created color and beauty. He not only created the sense of smell, He created apple blossoms. He not only created touch, He created spring grass and rose petals. He not only created taste, He created oranges and peaches. He not only created me, He created you, and we can experience friendship and love. God not only created us, He created us to know Him. The world is a joyful place for those who know their Creator.

It is amazing how differently people see the world. Some see God everywhere they look, while others never look for Him. One group who is not looking for God in creation are evolutionists. What does the evolutionist say about the origin of life? Well, he’s reduced to guesses.

One theory is that a germ of life from some distant place in space was carried by a meteor, to Earth; and, that’s how life originated on Earth. All that does is just move the question back: How did life originate somewhere out yonder in space? There are many other theories like this that require more faith than to believe in God and His creation.

2 Pet 3:5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

Dr. George Wall, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Harvard University, who won the Nobel Prize in Biology in 1971, writing in Scientific American on the origin of life, said this: “There are only two possibilities as to how life arose: One is spontaneous generation arising to evolution. The other is a supernatural creative act of God. There is no third possibility.”

Dr. Wall has back himself into a corner, but he knows this. He also knows spontaneous generation, that life arose from nonliving matter, was scientifically disproven in the 19th century by Louis Pasteur and other scientists. That leaves us with only one possible conclusion: that life arose as a supernatural creative act of God.

However, I want you to hear what this Nobel Prize winning scientist, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Harvard, said. Now remember, he said there are only two possibilities: the origin of life is either spontaneous generation arising to evolution, or it is a creative act of God. He continued, “I will not accept that philosophically, because I do not want to believe in God. Therefore, I choose to believe what I know is scientifically impossible: spontaneous generation arising to evolution. To say it just happened is impossible, but I believe it, because I don’t want to believe in God”.

Now, what I want you to see is, that evolution is not truly science; it is philosophy. It is a bias against God. It is the best guess of those who will not accept divine creation as the origin of life.

Gen 1:11 & 21 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Contrary to the Bible, the evolutionist must believe that reproduction does not always produce kind after kind. There has to be a mutation—or a transmutation, rather—between species—that you can become a protozoa; and then you can become an un-segmented worm; and then you may become a fish; and then you may become a reptile, and move from one species to another.

Now, there is no evidence that this has ever happened and no one has ever seen this occur, although scientists have tried to make it happen. If you have roses, you can mix genetics and create varieties of roses, but a rose is rose. If you have dogs—canines—you can have everything from a poodle to a Great Dane, interbreed them, but they’re still canines; they’re still dogs. The scientists have bombarded fruit flies with gamma rays to attempt transmutations, and they get all kinds of strange fruit flies. But, they never get June bugs; they’re still fruit flies.

Evolution is man’s explanation of the origin of life without God. If it was only this simple, the theory of evolution would be harmless, but this philosophy has evil consequences because its basis is evil, devoid of God.

For example, there were two atheists, who lived in the time of Darwin, who believed Darwin’s teaching and locked onto it. One was a man named Nietzsche, and the other was a man named Karl Marx. From Nietzsche we got Nazism. Hitler was a student of Nietzsche, who was a student of Charles Darwin. The other was Karl Marx. Karl Marx was the father of Communism. It is easy to understand, if there is no God, how something like Communism, which is based on godlessness, and Nazism, which is based on survival of the fittest, could develop. The consequence is that multiplied millions have died—not because of religion, but because of anti-god evolution.

Think of the millions who were destroyed by Nazi Germany. Think of the multiplied millions that were put to death under Stalin and other communist leaders throughout the world. Why is that? Well, if you believe there is no God, you can set your own standard of right or wrong. If we teach people that they’ve come from animals; after a while, they’ll begin to live like animals. It follows as night follows day. What do animals live for? Self-gratification, self-preservation, self-propagation. And, that’s what the average unbeliever is living for today. However, the Bible teaches that man did not spring from the beast, but he is headed toward the Beast—that is, the Antichrist.

Peter Singer, who teaches “ethics” at Princeton, believes that we ought to be able to kill little babies, if we don’t like them, if they’re not perfect enough for us. Now, I’m not talking about babies in the womb; I’m talking about pure infanticide. He believes that a live chimpanzee is of more value, if that chimpanzee is healthy, than an unhealthy baby.

There is a war going on over a basic sense of right or wrong. That is why the authoritative Word of God is under attack. That is why evolution is taught as fact instead of as a theory. Because, if evolution is true, then we can have morality by the majority—whatever a person wishes to believe or think. Self-autonomous man can have it his way: abortion, homosexuality, incest, murder, theft, fornication—who’s to say these are wrong.

Judges 17:6 In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.

Here is the ultimate purpose of evolution. If all animals and man evolved, then there were no first parents, and no Paradise, and no Fall. If there was no Fall, then the entire historic fabric of Christianity, the story of the first sin, and the reason for the Atonement collapses. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross has no significance. That is why the Genesis account of creation is so important and why it is under attack. If there’s no creation, then you’ve destroyed the authority of the Bible and the foundation of Christianity. That is the goal of the Antichrist.

Now, the Bible teaches that man was created by God and that he fell into sin. The evolutionist believes that he started in some primordial soup and has been evolving up and up. These two ideas are diametrically opposed. What we call sin, the evolutionist would just call a stumble up. And so, the evolutionist believes that all a man needs is a boost from beneath. The Bible teaches man is a sinner and needs a birth from above.

Now, remember that evolution is not a science. It may look like a science; it may talk like a science, but it is a philosophy; it is science fiction. It is anti-God; it is really the devil’s religion. And, the sad thing is that our public schools have become the devil’s Sunday School classes. Unfortunately, they are not restricted to an hour on Sunday, but are teaching our children 5 days a week in school, on TV, in museums, and in national/state parks. It is imposed on everyone. They accuse us of imposing our religion, but they are the ones who are imposing their religion.

Evolution is man’s way of hiding from God, because, if there is no creation, there is no Creator, and no responsibility to a holy God. And, once you remove God from life, then man can think what he wants to think, do what he wants to do, be what he wants to be, and he has no fear of future judgment.

However, in the back of every evolutionist and atheist’s mind lie bigger questions than the origin of life. They silently wonder, “What if I am wrong and the Bible is right?” “What if there is a God?” The evolutionist and atheist tell themselves there is no life after death. When you die, that is it. But deep in their spirit—the spirit they were created with—they fear death and the possibility of being wrong and facing God, who they denied existed.

Jesus Christ came to take away the fear of death, but evolutionists and atheists want to get rid of Jesus Christ. They cannot prove that He did not live, or that He was not a remarkable Man; but they work to dissolve Him by analysis, to say He was not really God Incarnate. Jesus Christ always upsets the calculations of humanity because Jesus is the stumbling-block to all the philosophies of men. Jesus Christ is an annoyance to Satan, a thorn in the side of the world at large, an absolute distress to sin in the individual. If we could crucify Him and stamp Him out, the annoyance would cease. That was tried and it failed. Jesus arose from the dead.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word that spoke everything into existence, conquered death and the devil. Therefore, mankind is without excuse.

Romans 1:18-25  The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-- his eternal power and divine nature-- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-- who is forever praised. Amen.

What excuse and philosophy are you living by today? Are you worshipping the creation, the devil’s philosophy, or the Creator, Jesus Christ. There are no other choices.

Jesus Christ has a purpose for your life. After all, He died for your sin so that you might have life. He has provided you eternal life with Him if you will follow Him today, for today is the day of salvation.
